Understanding your treatment

How it works.

IPL delivers filtered light that is absorbed by pigment or hemoglobin, depending on the treatment settings. This creates targeted heating to reduce the appearance of selected brown spots or small visible vessels.

Harmony’s Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT) is an IPL technology designed to use light energy efficiently. Different filters and applicators allow the provider to match the treatment to the concern.

Your treatment plan

Several visits may be recommended. The number and spacing are set after assessing the target, skin tone and healing response.

What to expect

After assessment, your provider selects the appropriate applicator and settings. Protective eyewear is required. You may feel warmth or brief snapping sensations. Temporary redness and sensitivity can follow; burns, blistering and pigment changes are possible.

Treatment is subject to individual suitability. Your provider will review benefits, limitations, alternatives and aftercare. Results vary.

Before your visit

A little more
clarity.

Is IPL a laser?

IPL means intense pulsed light. It delivers a filtered range of wavelengths; a laser uses a specific wavelength. Harmony XL supports both technologies through different handpieces.

Is IPL suitable for every skin tone?

No blanket rule applies. Natural pigmentation and recent tanning affect the risk of burns or color changes. Darker skin tones may need another approach. We assess your skin before recommending IPL.

Can it treat melasma?

Melasma needs a separate assessment because light and heat can worsen it in some people. We do not treat all brown marks as ordinary sun spots.

Our technology

Alma Harmony XL.

One platform, different treatment handpieces. At Radiant Refine, Harmony XL supports IPL photofacials, ClearLift and hair reduction, with the treatment selected around your skin and goals.

Why we use it

Its flexibility lets us match the light or laser technology to the concern. Adjustable settings help personalize treatment intensity, while non-ablative options can keep recovery manageable.

Options across skin tones

Suitability belongs to the specific treatment and handpiece. ClearLift and selected hair-removal approaches can accommodate a broad range of skin tones; IPL needs particular care with darker or recently tanned skin.
