PRP &
microneedling.
Four microneedling options, personalized to your skin and goals.
Your microneedling options.
Start with your skin goals. Compare each option below, then we will help you choose a suitable treatment plan.
PRP microneedling
Microneedling paired with platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood using Integrity PRP tubes.
How it works
Microneedling creates tiny controlled punctures that stimulate a collagen response. Prepared PRP is applied to the treated skin; it contains platelet-derived growth factors involved in repair. This option involves a blood draw and differs from targeted PRP injections.
Potential benefits
May improve the appearance of acne scars, uneven texture and fine lines. PRP may add benefit for some concerns, particularly acne scarring, although results and the amount of added benefit vary.
Who may consider it
For someone seeking texture or scar improvement who is comfortable with a blood draw and is medically suitable for PRP.
When to expect changes
Gradual improvement over weeks, with fuller changes over months. Several visits may be recommended; adding PRP does not guarantee faster healing or a shorter series.
Microneedling with hyaluronic acid
Microneedling with a selected hyaluronic acid formula as part of the treatment plan.
How it works
Hyaluronic acid attracts and holds water. Its skincare role is hydration, while the needling procedure provides the collagen-stimulating component. Your provider chooses a formulation and application suited to the device and your skin.
Potential benefits
Aims to support a more hydrated, supple appearance alongside gradual improvement in texture and fine lines from microneedling. It does not add the volume or contour of an injected hyaluronic acid filler.
Who may consider it
For someone whose goals include hydration and overall texture. Active irritation or a damaged skin barrier may mean postponing treatment rather than adding more products.
When to expect changes
Hydration-related skin feel may change earlier; collagen-related changes develop over weeks to months. No separate, fixed duration is established for the hyaluronic acid addition.
Microneedling with stem-cell-derived growth factors
A growth-factor skincare option, often called “stem cell microneedling.” AnteAGE explains that its growth-factor products contain signaling proteins derived from cultured cells, with no live stem cells.
How it works
Growth factors and cytokines are proteins involved in cell communication. They are used in skincare with the aim of supporting skin renewal. The selected treatment solution is reviewed individually; everyday AnteAGE serum and accelerator are not interchangeable with its microneedling solutions.
Potential benefits
The goals are smoother-looking texture and improvement in the appearance of fine lines as part of a microneedling plan. Additional benefit and recovery effects depend on the specific formula; superiority over microneedling alone should not be assumed.
Who may consider it
For someone interested in a growth-factor skincare option without a PRP blood draw. This is skincare accompanying a procedure, not live stem-cell therapy.
When to expect changes
Follow the microneedling timeline of weeks to months. Product-specific results vary, and there is no established separate duration or guaranteed reduction in downtime.
Microneedling with exosomes
Microneedling with an exosome skincare product discussed as an accompanying option.
How it works
Exosomes are microscopic particles released by cells that can carry molecular signals. Their potential role in skin care is being studied. Product source, contents and quality vary, so the specific formulation matters.
Potential benefits
Proposed goals include improvement in skin texture, tone and post-treatment recovery. These additional benefits remain under investigation and cannot be promised for every exosome product. Established microneedling benefits should not be attributed automatically to the add-on.
Who may consider it
For someone who wants to discuss an emerging option and understands its evidence limitations. Your provider reviews the product, risks and established alternatives before treatment.
When to expect changes
Use the microneedling recovery and review schedule. A separate onset, duration or faster healing benefit from the exosome product is not established.
Your series.
Your recovery.
How many sessions?
Your concern, its severity, skin response and treatment intensity guide the plan. Acne-scar treatment may involve a series of 3–5 visits; the provider sets spacing and reassesses healing before each session. Other concerns may need a different number.
How long do results last?
Changes develop as collagen remodels. Aging, sun exposure and skin care affect how long improvement remains visible; maintenance may be discussed. No add-on guarantees permanent results.
What to expect
We review your skin, medications and recent treatments, discuss comfort measures and select the procedure and product. PRP requires a blood draw; the other three options do not.
Downtime & aftercare
Redness or temporary darkening, tenderness and swelling can last several days to a week. Follow your provider’s instructions for cleansing, moisturizer, sun protection and when to restart makeup and active skincare.
Is it suitable for everyone?
Active infection, inflamed acne, poor healing and certain medical conditions can change the plan. Possible risks include infection, pigment changes, scarring and reactions to accompanying products.
PRP injections.
Targeted PRP injections are separate from microneedling. Explore treatments for facial skin or scalp thinning.
Additional skincare may be selected for your visit: PDRN skincare and AnteAGE peptide skincare.
