How Sculptra Works
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible material that stimulates the body’s collagen production. Improvement develops gradually as new collagen supports facial volume, firmness, and skin quality.
Treatment commonly focuses on diffuse facial volume loss, temples, cheeks, and selected lower-face concerns. The exact areas and number of vials are determined after a full assessment.
Many patients need two to three sessions over several months. Improvement may become visible around one month and can be sustained for up to two years. Individual results and maintenance needs vary.
Treatment, Aftercare and Safety
Expect a consultation, photographs, mapping, and a series-based treatment plan. Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, and redness are common. Early swelling is not the final collagen result.
Follow the manufacturer’s 5-5-5 massage guidance when instructed: five minutes, five times daily, for five days. Nodules or lumps can occur, and product-specific risks will be reviewed before treatment.
